Challenge:

  • Demolish six existing triplex houses, decommission all existing services, and site remediation
  • Build a 1,800 m3 raft slab foundation complete with poured concrete foundation walls and below-grade parking garage 
  • Complete the project within 16 months

Objective:

Team up with Trass Properties and The Morgan Investment Group to manage the construction of a new 19-storey precast student residence, accommodating 17 floors of fully furnished student apartments including 92 units with bedrooms, kitchens, a three-piece bath, and living space.

Construction also included a large student lounge on the 18th floor, featuring a study area, conference rooms, a business centre, fitness facility and recreational space.

CSL took on the Construction Management role for both of these projects – coming on board and taking preliminary design documents, and providing construction delivery expertise to the client for the most economical delivery on the urban infill sites.
